Stahl, 101, Somerset, died March 5, 2006, at The Patriot. Born Jan. 6, 1905, in Lavansville, she is the daughter of the late William J.R. and Nellie (Mason) Hay. Also preceded in death by husband, Clark W. Stahl; brothers, George, Oscar, Warren, Jim and Jennings Hay; sisters, Susan Weimer, Anna Burkley and Nellie Coleman and a grandson, Cpl. Roger W. Stahl. Survived by children, Evelyn S. Larimer, Johnstown, William H. Stahl and wife, Dorothy, Sipesville, Ernest E. Stahl and wife, Maxine and George C. Stahl and wife, Audrey, both of Somerset; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Fern Hay, Somerset. She was the oldest member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church were she taught Sunday school and participated in many activities, especially quilting, the annual picnic and banquets. She was a 60+ year member of Somerset Grange where she was the pianist. She was a homemaker and worked supportively with her husband in all aspects of the family farm and will always be loved and sadly missed by family and friends. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 9 until 10 a.m. Thursday, the time of service, in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dennis Doebler officiating. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, 10377 Somerset Pike, Somerset, PA 15501.
