Stahl, 92, of 579 Middlecreek Road, Rockwood, formerly of the Jones Mills area, died Oct. 19, 1997, at her home. She was born Sept. 2, 1905, at Melcroft, a daughter of the late Andrew Payne and Elizabeth (Caton) Kalp. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Middlecreek Township. She is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs. Joseph (Jane) Moore of Rockwood and Mrs. Eddie (Sarah) Denner of Friedens RD 2; sons: Philip Stahl and his wife Roberta of Akron, Ohio, and Elmer D. Stahl of Stoystown; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also survived by brother, William Kalp of Rockwood, and 2 sisters, Edna Ritenour of Champion and Mrs. Albert (Flossie) Musgrove of Greensburg RD. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Marcus E. Stahl in 1981; an infant son William and 3 brothers: Walter, Caton and Jess Kalp; 5 sisters: Wilma Kalp, Velva Waltz, Zennie White, Ida Brown and Clara Stahl. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at The Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc. on Route 711 at Melcroft, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. John Polka officiating.
