  STAIRS
  
    Bertha C. Stairs, 89, of Siemon Lakeview Estate, died March 16,
  1988 at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Feb. 1, 1899 in Bullskin
  Township, Fayette County, daughter of the late Otho and Cora
  (Fleiger) Brown. Preceded in death by husband, Byron, in 1966;
  daughter, Ethel Flick in 1979; five sisters and one brother. 
  Survived by six children:  Paul of Meyersdale RD 5; Edith Stairs and
  Mrs. Albert (Helen) Barnett, both of Somerset RD 7; Carl of
  Meyersdale RD 4; Mrs. Henry (Olive) Barber, Houston, Texas; and Clark
  of Barberton, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and seven
  great-great grandchildren.  Sister of Mrs. Elsie Hoffer of Acme, Pa.,
  and Mrs. Lydia Berger of Greensburg.  Member of Seventh Day Adventist
  Church, Somerset.  Friends will be received 2-9 p.m. Thursday at
  Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be
  conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Pastor Richard Byrd officiating. 
  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Memorials may be given to
  the Siemon Nursing Home Activities Fund.
