Born March 15, 1924 in Quecreek, Lincoln Township. Son of Walter and Helen (Borek) Stanczyk. Preceded in death by parents and brother, James Stanczyk. Survived by children: Mrs. David J. (Renee) Trent of Somerset; and John Steven Stanczyk married to the former Kathy Ann Oaks, Somerset; seven grandchildren: Chastity Stanczyk, Rex Johnson, Heather and John Teti; Shannon, Brandon and Trista Trent and three great grandchildren. Also survived by very close friend and companion, Julie Sapienza of Somerset. Brother of Mrs. Sophia M. Kenmore, Somerset; Mrs. Lowell (Helen) Culp of Lima, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Pero, Somerset; Stanley A. Stanczyk, Somerset; Walter Stanczyk, Somerset; Mrs. Dean (Ruth) Ankeny, Hartwood, Va.; Mrs. James (Alice) Mankie, New Alexandria, Pa.; Daniel Stanczyk, York; Mrs. Ray (Esther) Phillippi, Rockwood; David W. Stanczyk of Long Beach, Calif.; and Miss Elizabeth Stanczyk , Somerset. A 1944 graduate of Somerset High School. Sergeant U.S. Army World War II. Member of Old Timers Baseball Association and VFW Post 554. Retired custodian for Somerset Schools and owned and operated Farm John's Market for 40 years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Dennis A. Fetter and Rev. Barry K. Ritenour officiating. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Somerset "In-Touch" Hospice, 1590 North Center Avenue, Somerset, Pa, 15501.
