Born March 7, 1896 in Warsaw, Poland, son of the late Stanley and Anna (Adamczyk) Stanczyk. Preceded in death by wife, former Helen Borek, who died in 1973; three brothers and two sisters. Survived by these children: John S., Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Guy (Sophia M.) Kenemore, Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Lowell (Helen) Culp, Lima, Ohio; Mrs. John (Mary) Pero, Somerset; Stanley A., Somerset RD 2; Walter Jr., Lima, Ohio; James, Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Dean (Ruth) Ankeny, Alexandria, Va.; Mrs. James (Alice) Mankie, New Alexandria, Pa.; Daniel, York; Mrs. Ray (Ester) Phillippi, Rockwood RD 3; David W., Long Beach, Calif.; and Miss Elizabeth Stanczyk, Somerset; 47 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. U.S. Army veteran of World War I. Retired farmer and former miner for Saxman Coke and Coal Co. Member of V.F.W. Post 554, Somerset. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Thomas Clarke and Willie Jones officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Family suggests contributions to American Heart Fund. Graveside military service will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 554, Somerset.
