Born Oct. 19, 1915 in Meyersdale, son of the late V.A. and Cora (Kinsinger) Stangarone. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty (Tarabulski) and these children: John H. Jr., of Silver Spring, Md.; Teresa Marie Bisset of Romney, W. Va.; Rosetta Elaine Foreback, Somerset and Barbara, wife of Kenneth Steinrich, Salisbury. Also 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also a sister, Rosetta, wife of M. Ray Leckemby of Meyersdale. At the age of 12, he built his first radio. Graduate of Salisbury High School, Class of 1933. Graduate of Radio Technical School. World War II veteran. He was stationed at Fort Monmouth, N.J. where he served as instructor of communications. He received the rank of M/Sgt., serving in England, France and Germany as a member of the Army Signal Corps. Retired postmaster of Springs, Pa., with 24 years of service. Member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, where he served as a deacon. Also a member of the Charles E. Kelly Post 112, American Legion. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Saturday he will be taken to St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, to lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m., time of service, with Pastor Ray Brown officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. The family suggests that contributions be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, P. O. Box 33, Salisbury, Pa., 15558, to the Memorial Fund of the Church. Daily American, January 28, 1999 [S2777]
