STANTON Mrs. Anna Stanton, 89, of Grantsville, widow of J. U. Stanton, died on Friday, Sept. 16. A native of Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late Jonas E. and Elizabeth (Swauger) Gnagey. Mrs. Stanton was a member of the United Church of Christ and a charter member of the Women's Guild of the church and of Grantsville Homemakers Club. She is survived by three sons, Paul Stanton, Catonsville, Md.; Harold Stanton, Huntington, W. Va.; and Markle Stanton, Cumberland; a daughter, Mrs. Harriet Powell, Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, William E. Gnagey, Meyersdale and Harry Gnagey, Pittsburgh.; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Loechel, Salisbury; and Mrs. Lula Parson, Delmar, Del.; and two grandchildren. Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where service was held last Monday by Rev. Richard Harder. Interment was made in Grantsville Cemetery.
