Stanton, 56, of 153 West Main Street, Frostburg, Md., died Aug. 4, 1981 at Memorial Hospital. He was born at Grantsville, Md.; and was a son of the late C. Earl and Malinda (Orendorf) Stanton. He was a former employee of the Kelly Springfield Tire Company where he was a calendar operator. He was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church; the United Rubber Workers Kelly Local 26; a veteran of World War II; and a member of Farrady Post 25 American Legion. He is survived by his widow, Gladys (Griffiths) Stanton; three daughters: Mrs. Naomi Galliher of Frostburg; Mrs. Darlene Neilson of Frostburg and Mrs. Glenetta Porter of Cumberland, Md.; three brothers, Delton Stanton, Frank Stanton and Leslie Stanton, all of Grantsville, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Naomi Meyers of Markleysburg; and one grandchild. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Dr. R. Olin Herndon and Dr. John Bayley Jones. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Knotts, John Griffiths, Ronald Stanton, Danny Stanton, Roy Stanton and Kenneth Stanton.
