Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Winterburg Funeral Home in Grantsville, Rev. D. J. Combs, pastor of the Methodist Church, of which Miss Stanton was a member, officiated. Mrs. George Edwards and Mrs. Harry J. Bender sang. Interment was made in the Bittinger Lutheran Cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews of the decedent, Guy, Hubert, Melvin and Allen Stanton. Miss Stanton was the daughter of the late Thomas and Louise (Broadwater) Stanton and was born at Bittinger, May 9, 1865. She was the last member of a family of nine children - four brothers and five sisters. A brother, Thomas, passed away in January of this year. She attended college in Hagerstown and a Bible school in Ohio. She was always interested in church work. She made her home in recent years with several nieces and nephews.
