STANTON Mabel Waltrude Stanton, 90, of Star Route, Grantsville, Md., died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1993 at Memorial Hospital. Born on Feb. 16, 1903 at Jennings, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wilson and Mary (Hetrick) Bittinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Stanton on April 15, 1964; one son, M. Hoye Stanton, and a grandson, David Stanton. Surviving are three sons, Owen Stanton, Grantsville; Robert Stanton, Green Valley, Ariz.; Richard Stanton, McHenry, Md.; two daughters, Mary Miller, Springs; Helen Dice, Grantsville; one brother, Kermit Bittinger, Mexico Farms, Cumberland, Md.; one sister, Harlene Braden, Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Stanton was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and was a homemaker. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville on Friday where services were conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Connell Chaney officiating. Interment, Bittinger Cemetery.
