Stanton, 77, Hollsopple RD 1, dead on arrival June 24, 1980 at Windber Hospital. Born Nov. 3, 1902 in Quemahoning Township, son of Charles E. and Martha Jane (Barndt) Stanton. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Lois; son, David; sister, Mrs. Hulda Gonder, Mrs. Edna Armagost and Mrs. Catherine Stutzman; and brother Arthur. Survived by widow, the former Emilie Livingston; sons: Jay R., married to the former Clara Wilson and Roger Dale, married to the former Alice Foy, both of Hollsopple RD 1; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Brother of Meridith, Windber RD 1 and Eugene, married to the former Emma Berkey, Tire Hill. Member of Hopewell United Methodist Church since 1950. Trustee of the church and member of the cemetery board. Retired employee of Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel Corporation. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. Body will be moved to Hopewell Church for viewing from 1 p.m. Saturday until time of service at 2 p.m. the Rev. Walter M. Willey. Interment, Maple Springs Cemetery.
