Stanton, 74, farmer, died at his home near Bittinger, Wednesday morning after an illness of several weeks of heart ailment. Funeral services were held in the Bittinger Lutheran Church, at 2 p.m., Friday, the pastor Rev. C. H. Runze officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Stanton was the son of the late Thomas and Louise (Broadwater) Stanton and was born on the Stanton Farm near Bittinger, May 11, 1872. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catharine (Snyder) Stanton, one daughter, Mrs. Hilda Bowser of Akron, O., and three sons, Allen, Martin and Edward Stanton, at home. He also left several grandchildren and one sister, Miss Jennie Stanton. Meyersdale Republican, January 23, 1947
