Stark, died in St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh, at 9:35 p.m., on Monday, July 27th, after an illness of about eight months, the last ten days of which she was confined to her bed. The immediate cause of death was terminal pneumonia. Annie Elizabeth Holt was born in Pittsburgh on August 4, 1869, a daughter of the late J. W. and Keziah Holt, and lived in Pittsburgh for six years, after which the family moved to Ohiopyle. She was married in 1888 to Charles H. Stark, and lived for seven years on a farm near Farmington, coming to Confluence in 1895, where they resided since then. She was a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and its auxiliaries. She was also a member of the Women's Benefit Association. She was kind, friendly and charitable, and was beloved by everyone who knew her. Many were the kind acts and deeds she performed in times of adversity. She was a kind and considerate mother and brought up a spendid family. She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Stark and the following children: Mrs. Grace Corriston, Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Ethel Davis, Confluence; Mrs. Edith Hyde, Hastings, and Charles H. Stark, Jr., Cleveland, Ohio, and seven grandchildren. Three brothers, William Holt, R. C. Holt and C. C. Holt, all of Ohiopyle; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Collins, also of Ohiopyle, also survive. The body was brought to Confluence on Tuesday, July 28th, by Funeral Director Charles B. Humbert. Short services were held by the members of the Women's Benefit Association at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 30th, and funeral services were held at the family home at 2 p.m. the same day, Rev. George O. Ritter, of the Confluence Lutheran Church officiating. There were many beautiful floral tributes. A quartet from the Methodist Episcopal Church choir sang several beautiful selections. Interment was made in Sampson Chapel cemetery along the National Pike near Farmington, in charge of Funeral Director Charles B. Humbert. The pall-bearers, nephews of the deceased, were William Holt, Webster Holt, Denzil Holt, Thomas Holt, Robert Holt and Oran Waters. Meyersdale Republican, August 6, 1931
