Stark, 82, Avilton died Aug. 4 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. A native of New Germany, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Duckworth) Stark. Twice married, his first wife, Mary (Warnick) Stark, preceded him in death. He was a member of United Church of Christ, Salisbury, where he was a Sunday school teacher for 25 years; an elder of the church; and was a member of Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, Ethel (Broadwater) Stark; three sons, Edgell and Dallas Stark, Baltimore; and Ira Stark, Avilton; two stepsons, Forest and Paul Broadwater, Salisbury; five daughters: Mrs. Evelyn Robeson, Avilton; Mrs. Helena Breneman, Cumberland; Mrs. Rotho Pelto, Vienna, Va.; Mrs. Catherine Corbin, Winter Haven, Fla.; and Mrs. Virginia Kemp, Cleveland, Ohio; also 23 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clara Stevenson. Funeral service was conducted at United Church of Christ, New Germany on Monday afternoon, with Rev. Ernest Rumbaugh officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
