    Jon Gleason Starn, 71, Somerset, passed away Aug. 5, 2006, at his residence. Born March
  20, 1935, in Meadville, the son of Gleason W. and Ruth Naomi (Rose) Starn. Preceded in
  death by his parents. Survived by his wife, the former Susan Bates to whom he was married
  48 years; sons, J. Jeffrey Starn and wife Evelyn M. Betz, Pleasant Valley, Conn., and
  Michael B. Starn and wife, Sheri Howard, New Philadelphia, Ohio; grand-children, Kai
  Starn, Jeremy Starn, Nicholas, Andrew, Tyler, Jon, Laurissa and Jennifer Starn. Also
  survived by brother, Marvin A. Starn and wife, Donna, Orlando, Fla. A 1953 graduate of
  Meadville High School. Graduate of Nichols College and Allegheny College in Meadville.
  U.S. Army veteran. Worked as a publisher for Meadville Tribune, Newark Ohio Advocate and
  Somerset Daily American, retiring in 2002. Member of Somerset Rotary Club and Laurel
  Arts. Past member of Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. Friends received from 2 to 4 and
  7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. A private service will be
  held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a
  local hospice of your choice or Laurel Arts, 214 South Harrison Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
