"Peepee", JR. 05/31/05 The New Republic April 11, 1927 - May 31, 2005 Edward C. "Peepee" Staub, Jr., 78, of Meyersdale, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born April 11, 1927 in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Nan (Pugh) Staub, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion (Beal) in 1999. Also preceded in death by brother, Frank R. and sisters: Mary Estella Staub-Byers and Nell Staub; also nephews: Thomas E. Byers and Barry Thomas. He is survived by sister, Alma Thomas, Baltimore, Md.; and these nieces and nephews: Michael Byers, Joan McGuigan, and Sharon Haer of Baltimore; William Byers of Monroeville; William Thomas and Nancy Britt of Cherry Hill, N.J. He was a member of Main Street Brethren Church, Lifetime member of MVFD, American Legion and VFW, Somerset Eagles, Korean Veterans Association, and the NRA. Friends were received on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, where funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
