Center Avenue, Somerset, died Jan. 31, 1982, in Sebring, Fla. He was born Dec. 20, 1901, in Hollsopple, son of late Francis and Catherine (Blough) Stayrook. He was preceded in death by step-mother, two brothers, two sisters, one stepsister and three brothers. He is survived by these children: Mrs. LaRue Radetrich, Kenmore, N.Y.; Walter E. Jr., Reseda, Calif.; and Mayme, wife of Larry Shumaker, Somerset RD 5; also seven grandchildren. He was a brother of Katie Alwine, Hollsopple, and Morton, Johnstown. Half brother of Francis, New Baltimore; Glenn, Somerset; Clara Peterson and Erma Ott, both of Johnstown; Richard, Berlin; Edna Cox, Linesville; William, Erie; and Vernon, Strongsville. He was a retired painter; member of Somerset Aerie 1801, F.O. E. Friends were received at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services were conducted with the Rev. Donald K. Jordan. Interment, Blough Cemetery. The Republic, February 4, 1982 [S2847]
