Born May 15, 1910, in Beatty, Pa., son of the late John B. and Elizabeth (Meyers) Steele. Preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Survived by widow, the former Ruby L. Loucks; a son, Howard L., LaPaz, Bolivia, South America; four grandchildren. Member of Franklin Street United Methodist Church, Johnstown; the John A. Brashear Lodge 743 F and AM, Pittsburgh; the Pittsburgh Consistory, Syria Temple; the American Association of Retired Persons and the University Club of Pittsburgh. Since 1966, he owned and operates Kingwood Acres, his "retirement Farm" in Somerset County near Kingwood. Death broke a marriage union of 53 years. No public visitation and viewing. Memorial service held at 2 p.m. Friday at the R. Owen-Ketterer Funeral Home, (Geistown) Johnstown, the Rev. John W. Stevenson, the Rev. Harry J. Fisher, D.D., and the Rev. George Biggs, D.D.
