Born Aug. 27, 1953, in Meissen, Germany, the son of Wayne Crise and Ilse Marianne (Stehr) Crise, Somerset. Preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Roy A. Crise; maternal grandparents, Anna and Szrama Stehr. Survived by his loving wife, the former Kathleen Jo Dickey, to whom he was married 21 years; daughter, Amanda Stehr, Shanksville; brother, Roy W. Crise and wife, Carol, Somerset; paternal grandmother, Wilma Crise, Somerset; helping friends, Christine Faircloth, Barb Reed and Brenda Sell and all of his many other family and friends who will miss his jokes, stories and happy smiling face. Gunter graduated from Somerset High School in 1973 and attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. He was a longtime employee of the Pa. Turnpike on the north and south sides. Gunter was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he loved going on trips to hunt turkey. He loved the game of golf and all sports. He umpired legion baseball, coached softball and football and legion and little league. He also was employed as a timekeeper for the Somerset school games. He also was a member of many sportsman's organizations. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Brian N. Simmons officiating.
