Stein, 52, Salisbury RD 1, died March 20, 1987, Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born in Jennings, Md., Nov. 21, 1934, son of the late Fred and Leatta (Berkey) Stein. He was a machine operator for Penn Pocohantas Coal Co., Somerset, and also served with Elk Lick Township Roads Department. He is survived by his widow, Mary Fowler. He was a member of the Acosta Church of God. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons: Darrel, Charlotte, N.C.; Clyde, Meyersdale; Steve, Greensboro, N.C.; Craig, Salisbury; and Cecil, Grantsville, Md.; four daughters: Mrs. Debra Dease, Greensboro, N.C.; Mrs. Brenda Lee Short, Salisbury; Mrs. Lisa McKensie, St. Paul; and Miss Donna Stein, at home; two brothers: Roy of Mogadore, Ohio; and Frank of Grantsville; six sisters: Mrs. Lena Mason, West Salisbury; Mrs. Ruth Eisentrout, Confluence: Mrs. Marguerite Deal, and Mrs. Verna Twombly, both of Addison; Mrs. Wilda Mason, Listonburg; and Mrs. Shirley Brinegar, Grantsville; also four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Saturday, 7-9 p.m., and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the Maranatha Assembly of God with the Rev.
