Steinkirchner, 75, of Somerset, died September 8, 1987, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born July 3, 1912 in Acosta, a son of the late Charles A. and Bertha (Vallimont) Steinkirchner. He is survived by the following children: John J. and Charles W., both of Somerset; Vernon L., York. Also nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a close friend, Mary Irons of Somerset. He was the brother of Mrs. Joseph (Ida Marie) Bocsy; Mrs. Ned (Anna Grace) Petrosky, both of Somerset. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, veteran of U.S. Navy, WWII; Past commander of American Legion Post 181; Past American Legion District Commander, member of VFW 554; Member Meyersdale Elks, past president F.O.E. Aerie No. 1801. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Memorial service by the American Legion Post 181 at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday followed by Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Mass of christian burial Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli celebrant.
