Her body was removed to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Murphy, Meyersdale. Mrs. Steinley was born August 31, 1860, at Pocahontas, Greenville Township, the daughter of Solomon and Sarah (Beal) Housel. She was married in 1880 to Lewis Steinley. Fourteen children were born of this union. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one son. The surviving children are Charles H., Millard E., Franklin L. Steinley and Mrs. Sarah Murphy, Meyersdale; Mrs. Thomas McKenzie, Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Harold Folk, Friedens, Pa.; Mrs. John Smith, Jerome, Pa.; Mrs. Frank Wilhelm, Robert Steinley, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Mahlon ??, Louisville, Ohio; Howard A., Clarksburg, W.Va.; Mrs. John Dietle, Salisbury. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Maggie Cook, Meyersdale; Mrs. W. M. Boyer, Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Barbara E. Cober, Daleville, Va.; and Harvey Housel, Meyersdale, Pa. Seventy-seven grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Greenville Lutheran Church of which Mrs. Steinley was an active member. Services were conducted by Rev. S. Seigler with burial in the church cemetery under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, August 27, 1942
