Peddy and Steller had set a number of props in the room in which they were working, but the weight of the rock caused one of the props to slip and the huge mass, weighing many tons, came down on them, crushing both men almost to a pulp. Peddy was 24 years of age and (had?) two children. Steller was 22 years of age and unmarried. Meyersdale Commercial, Oct. 23, 1913
