  STERN
  
    Clay W. Stern, 84, of Goldsmith Rd., Stoystown, went to be with the
  Lord Aug. 20, 1997, at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin.  Born Jan.
  14, 1913, in Hooversville, son of Russell and Emma (Ogline) Stern. 
  Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Fred, James, John and Clyde,
  and sisters: Ida Yoder, Florence Hemminger, Bessie Manges and
  Virginia Cole.  Survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Grace
  Lybarger; daughter: Charlotte, married to Julius Gornik, Harrisburg;
  4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Olive Manges, and
  numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Retired Quemahoning Township
  farmer.  Family will receive from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at
  Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Saturday, Rev. Dale Lyzbicki.  Interment, Somerset Memorial Park. 
  Instead of flowers, contributions may be given to the Stoystown Fire
  Company, Stoystown, PA 15563.
