Born Sept. 30, 1947 in Somerset, son of Harry Elwood Stern and Nelma Jean (Leaphart) Stern, Somerset. Brother of Mrs. Ronald L. (Donna) Deaner, Somerset; Mrs. George E. (Esther) Dively, Friedens. Also survivied [sic] by niece and nephews, Chad E. Dively, Rockwood; Dawn M. Deaner, Stephens City, Va., and Joshua E. Dively, Friedens. Member of Bethany United Methodist Church. A 1967 graduate of Somerset High School. U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of VFW Post 7295 Berlin; American Legion Post 445; and Local 1718 Retail, Wholesale & Department Stores union. He was employed by Snyders of Berlin for 27 years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Barry K. Ritenour and Rev. Donald E. Krestar officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church in care of Andrea Friedline, 294 W.
