  Ferne Stern, 67, of South Ankeny Avenue, Somerset, died Jan. 14,
  1978, in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born March 27, 1910, in
  Ohiopyle, a daughter of Ray F. and Anna Jane (Pyle) Taylor.  Preceded
  in death by parents; husband, Jacob; and one sister, Leona.  Survived
  by these children: Mrs. Margaret Murray, Miss Judy, and Harry P., all
  of Somerset; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two
  brothers, Walter and Donald Taylor, both of Somerset.  Member of St.
  Paul's United Church of Christ in Somerset.  She was a retired
  employee of the Somerset Community Hospital, a member of Somerset FOE
  1801 Auxiliary, and a member of the board of the Western Pennsylvania
  Sociable CB Club.  Friends are being received in the Robert H.
  Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.
  Tuesday with the Rev. Richard H. Shellenberger officiating. 
  Interment, Lavansville Cemetery.
