STERN

  Irene M. Stern, 83, of Central City RD 1, (Indian Lake), died April
8, 1993, at the Somerset Hospital.  Born Aug. 26, 1909, in
Pittsburgh.  Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58
years, Ernest E. Stern; sisters, Katherine Moody, Jennie Murphy and
Marie Martin; and brothers, David M. Martin and William J. Martin
Jr.  Survived by a sister, Lillian Murphy; brother, Albert E. Martin;
and son, Richard W. Stern of Indian Lake.  Her long-standing request
that she be buried privately with no viewing will be honored by her
son.  Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church,
Somerset, with Msgr. Samuel Tomaselli officiating.  Private interment
in the Husband Cemetery on Monday morning under the direction of the
Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions, in lieu of
flowers, may be given to Somerset Meals on Wheels.
