    James D. Stern, 90, Washington Crossing, died April 20, 2006, at the Pickering Manor
  Home, Newtown. Born in Stoystown, he has resided in Washington Crossing for the past 53
  years. Mr. Stern was the father of the late Patricia Eames. Also preceded in death by
  his parents, Ruth and John Stern, sisters, Margaret Stern Kimmel, and Lois Stern Kimmel,
  and brother John W. Stern. He is survived his wife, Edythe Overbeck Stern; son, James D.
  Stern Jr. of Belle Haven, Va.; daughter, Linda Stern Feinstein, Newtown; sister,
  Geraldine Kovack, Somerset; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces
  and nephews. He was a retired carpenter with Local31, Trenton, N.J. He was a U.S. Navy
  veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of the American Legion in Stoystown.
