  LAWRENCE A. STERN
  
    Lawrence A. "Ted" Stern, 68, Rockwood, died August 23, 1978, in
  Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born April 13, 1910 in Quemahoning
  Township, he was a son of Robert and Catherine (Howard) Stern.
    He was preceded in death by father, one brother and one sister.  He
  is survived by mother, Somerset RD; widow, the former Carrie Harkcom;
  son, Robert, Somerset RD 6; and three grandchildren.  He was a
  brother of Harry, Cazenovia, N.Y.; Mrs. Laura Shaw, Canasota, N.Y.;
  Charles, Grey; and Mrs. William Rose Fritz, Stoystown RD 1.
    He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Beulah United
  Methodist Church.
    Family received friends at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown,
  where services were conducted with the Rev. Herbert Lohr
  officiating.  Interment, Beulah Cemetery.
