  STERN
  
    Paul Friedline Stern, 79, Somerset died April 25, 2000 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born July 23, 1920 in Somerset.  Son of Joseph Franklin
  and Stella Grace (Friedline) Stern.  Preceded in death by parents,
  wife the former Pauline Ogline who died March 25, 1990, brothers:
  Jacob, Edmund and Ross Stern, and sisters, Melda Phillipi, Nancy
  Briar, Bessie and Ruth Stern.  Survived by children, Joseph M. Stern
  married to the former Joyce Younkin of Somerset and Paulette F. Stern
  of Somerset.  Three grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Jill and Jared Stern. 
  Brother of Harry Stern married to the former Nelma Jean Leaphart of
  Somerset, and Mrs. Evelyn Berkey of Somerset.  Also a sister-in-law
  Mrs. Violet Stern of Somerset.  A World War II veteran of the U.S.
  Army.  Member of VFW Post 554.  Employed by Somerset Welding and
  Steel, retiring in 1982 with 13 years service.  Friends received from
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home,
  Somerset, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with
  the Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to the Hauger-Zeigler
  Funeral Home, 494 W. Main St., Somerset, Pa. 15501 to meet the needs
  of the family.
