Sterner, 74, of Rockwood RD 2, died Feb. 19, 1982, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born June 20, 1907, in Black Township, son of Russell and Sadie (Heckler) Sterner. He is survived by his wife, Fern (Knopsnyder) Sterner, Rockwood RD 2; four sons: Warren, Ray and Lee, all of Rockwood; and Otis, of Rockwood RD 1; two daughters: Mrs. Ruth Bailey of Warren, Mich.; and Mrs. Loraine Boden of Sewickley; one brother, Floyd of Rockwood RD 2; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons: Alton, June 19, 1953; and Lloyd, June 11, 1969. His death terminates a marriage union of 54 years. He was a retired trackman of the Western Maryland Railway, after serving for 35 years. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Rockwood. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home. Services were held at the Church of the Brethren in Rockwood, with his pastor, the Rev. Scott Cooper officiating. Interment will follow, Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
