Born Aug. 6, 1914, in Watsontown, Northumberland County, son of the late Raymond B., and Edna (Hayes) Sterner. Survived by wife, the former Ida Mae Miller, to whom he was married 51 years, and by nieces and nephews: Barry L. Miller of Manassas Park, Va.; Mrs. David W. (Judy) Trent of Somerset; Scott B. Miller of Aquia, Va.; Ms. Charlene K. Miller, Harold W. Miller, and Mrs. Michael (Michele) Seeber, all of Manassas, Va., and Gene T. Miller of Culpepper, Va. Retired in 1965 as a corporal with the Pennsylvania State Police with 25 years service. He was a U.S. Army lieutenant during World War II. Graduate of Pennsylvania State University. Member of Grace United Methodist Church; Lodge 358, F.&A.M.; American Legion Post 181 and Westmoreland Forest 77, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Charles F. Olson officiating.
