Stets, 89, Somerset Pike, Boswell RD, died unexpectedly Oct. 1, 1999, at home. Born Feb. 11, 1910, in Ralphton, son of John and Mary Stets. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Sophia M. Gontis, Oct. 23, 1988, and sister, Louise Wozniak. Survived by daughters: Dolores S. "Dee", married to Ron Wasylczak of Somerset; and Patricia A., married to Thomas M. McGuire of Waldorf, Md.; and one granddaughter, Ramona M. McGuire. Brother Stanley J. of Boswell RD. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, where he helped build the former St. John's Church in Acosta. Also member of the UMWA, Local 1742. Local coal miner for many years and security officer for former Somerset State Hospital. Inducted into the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame for having voted consecutively in every election for the last 50 years. Friends received from noon until 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at All Saints Chapel, Acosta. Rev. Father Martin Breski, OFM Conv., Celebrant. Committal at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ralphton.
