Stetz, 84, 330 Somerset Ave., Jerome, died Aug. 5, 1976 in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Nov. 21, 1891 in Rakovec, Czechoslovakia, a son of Michael and Anna Stetz. Preceded in death by parents, wife, the former Helen Kostival in 1943, two sons: George, killed in action during World War II in 1945, and Michael, who died in 1957, also a brother, John. Survived by these children: John A., married to the former Elizabeth Phillips; Ann B., wife of Charles Pipta Jr.; Paul J. Sr., married to the former Almeda McDaniel; Helen E., wife of Leo Baranik; and Mary K., wife of Steve Skero, all of Jerome; and Stephen Michael, married to the former Helen Fenydessy, of Hamburg, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters. A half-brother of Mrs. Anna Hapak of Parma, Ohio. Member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Jerome and the UMW of A. He was president of the First Catholic Slovak Union, Branch 524, Jerome, honorary member of the Jerome Volunteer Fire Co. and a retired employe [sic] of the former Hillman Coal and Coke Co., Jerome. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. Mass of the Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, Jerome, with the Rev. Conrad Miller O.F.M. Conv. officiating. Interment, church cemetery. Daily American, August 6, 1976 [S2979]
