Born Dec. 9, 1932, in Hollsopple, daughter of Tullio and Rose (Samone) Fortini. Preceded in death by parents; son, Bruce Richard Stevanus; brothers-in-law, John Martnshin and Olles Cullers; and sisters-in-law, Betty (Passero) Stevanus and Audrey (Stevanus) Cullers. Survived by devoted husband of 53 years, Clarence Jr. "Junction," whom she married June 2, 1953; children, Sharon E., Jerome; Cynthia M., married to Joseph J. Sell, Hollsopple; and Barbara L., married to Wayne E. Adams, Davidsville; grandsons, Michael and Joseph Sell and Connor Adams; sister, Mary A. Martnshin, Buffalo, N.Y.; and brother-in-law, Paul Stevanus, married to Aggie Passero, Clinton, Md. Also many other relatives including special cousin, Dotti Samone, Conemaugh, and special aunt, Margie Fortini, Jerome. She is a graduate of Shade Township High School. Longtime member of Jerome Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer for Jerome Firemen's bingo night. Also a member of Jerome Nest 556 Polish Falcons of America and Jerome Post 802 American Legion Auxiliary. Retired cafeteria food preparer and server for Conemaugh Township Area School District, Davidsville. Vera enjoyed playing pinochle and belonged to a pinochle club with her close friends for more than 30 years. She especially enjoyed time with her family and friends, whether sitting on the front porch talking or taking a bus trip to Atlantic City. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
