He had been ill about a year and a half and was bedfast a large part of that time. Mr. Stevanus was born in Coal Run May 3, 1866, a son of Margaret (Haus) and Samuel Stevanus, and was 88 years, 4 months and 14 days in age at his death. He is survived by two sons, Jerry and Albert Stevanus, both of Coal Run; by five daughters, Mrs. Savilla Fisher and Mrs. Ada Knee of Coal Run; Mrs. Cora Romesberg, Garrett; Miss Rose Stevanus, Coal Run, and Mrs. Margaret Gill, Cincinnati, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Annie Gray, Meyersdale. Funeral services were conducted in the Coal Run Church at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, with the Rev. Ivan Miller of the Conservative Amish Church officiating. Interment in the St. Paul Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, September 22, 1949
