  Virginia M. "Jean," Stevanus, 75, Hyasota, went to be with the Lord
  on Feb. 26, 1998 at Conemaugh Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born Oct.
  12, 1922 in Hollsopple, daughter of Horner Scott and Cora (Berry)
  Benson.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, James E., who died
  Feb. 1, 1971; an infant son; sister, Ruby Benson and brother-in-law
  Francis T. Steck.  Survived by children, Robert, married to the
  former Sandra Mack, Hyasota; Bonnie J. wife of Dale Spory, Berlin,
  grandchildren, Robert Stevanus Jr., married to the former Rebecca
  Fabina; Tammy (Spory), wife of Danny Rubright; Matt Stevanus, married
  to the former Michelle Landis; Gail Stevanus, wife of Craig Knepper;
  Shirley (Spory), wife of Kevin Bruck; Jesse Stevanus, married to the
  former Melissa Spory; Missy (Spory), wife of Dave Foy; Dale Elaine
  Spory and Jill Stevanus; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Josh,
  Shayna, Tyler, Zack, Stacey, Ryan, Jamie, Jessica, Traie, Andrew and
  Jesse Jr.  Sister of Robert, married to the former Liz Unger, Jerome;
  Shirley Cooper, Jerome; and Faye, wife of Robert McTonic, Jerome. 
  Member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Hollsopple and God's
  Helpers Sunday School Class.  Family receiving friends from 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc.,
  Davidsville.  Service held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel United
  Methodist Church where remains will lie in state from 9 a.m. until
  time of service, the Rev. Thomas J. Michalko.  Interment St. Paul's
  Cemetery, Meyersdale.
