(Bryant) 05/31/05 Daily American Frieda M. (Bryant) Stewart, 83, Davidsville, died peacefully in her sleep from cardiac arrest at 7:28 a.m. May 27, 2005, in Columbia, Md. Born Sept. 10, 1921, in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of James H. and Effie Mae (Penny) Bryant. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John F. Sr.; son, John F. Jr., on March 24, 2005; brothers and sisters, Arlene Hicks, Leon Bryant, Marguerite Coates and James Bryant. Survived by daughters, F. Suzanne, married to Joseph Jenniches, Columbia, Md. and Patricia J., New York, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Janice (Brown) Stewart, Johnstown, and grandson, J. Ross Stewart, Esq., Pittsburgh. A graduate of high school and business college in Missouri, she was a secretary for the state of Missouri, where she met her husband while he was stationed there in the Army. They later moved to Pennsylvania, where they were co-owners and co-operators of the Stewart Sunoco in Davidsville. The Stewart family were longtime members of St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davidsville. Frieda was an active participant in many local senior citizens' organizations. She enjoyed spending time in her home in Davidsville that she and her husband built together. Until recently, she spent her winters with her sister, Marguerite, in Tucson, Ariz. She also enjoyed traveling to Manhattan to visit her daughter and to Europe; Bethany, Del., and Indian Lake. A private family viewing will be held, followed by cremation. Friends and family are invited to a service at noon June 11 at the Kaufman Cemetery in Davidsville. The Rev. James P. McCormick officiating. It will be followed by a luncheon at Frieda's beloved home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frieda's name may be given to St. David's Church, P.O. Box 427, Davidsville, PA 15928, or in shared memory of her late son and herself to the Westmont Hockey Stewart Memorial Foundation, c/o the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, 116 Market St., Suite 4, Johnstown, PA 15901, or the Cambria County Community Arts Center, Attention: John Stewart Scholarship, P.O.
