Steyer, 58, Mill Run RD 1, died May 1 at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born July 23, 1929, at Clay Run, son of Ira E. and Harrietta (Herman) Steyer of Mill Run RD 1. He was a dairy farmer and a sawmill operator, and was formerly employed by Mastowski and Fullem Lumber Co. as a truck driver. He was also a bus driver for Connellsville Area School District, a member of Mill Run Grange, Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department and Indian Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Janet L. (Johnson) Steyer; one son, Charles E. Steyer, Mill Run, and three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Mastowski, Connellsville; Mrs. Thomas (Joyce) Moran, Pittsburgh; and Mrs. Samuel (Kathy) Neiderhiser, Donegal; nine grandchildren; one brother, Ray E. Steyer, Mill Run, and two sisters, Iris Steyer and Mrs. Lewis (Frances) Collins, both of Mill Run, and several foster brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Route 711, at Melcroft, Pa., from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Private funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. John B. Davis and the Rev. Samuel Weible officiating. Interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
