Born Aug. 27, 1901, in Clay Run, son of the late Elijah Peter and Agnes (Sloan) Steyer. Survived by wife, Hazel Bernice (Meyers) Steyer; a son, David K. Steyer of Indian Head; and a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Compton of Mill Run RD 1; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ira E. Steyer of Mill Run RD 1. In addition to parents, preceded in death by five sisters: Annie Klink, Isabel Steyer, Carrie Steyer, Mabel Shultz and Fannie Grace; and one brother, Absalom Steyer. Resident of Mill Run area for most of his life. Worked as a carpenter and farmer. Member of Carpenters Union and the Mill Run Grange. Attended Church of God. Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev.
