He was born Jan. 22, 1892, in Alverton (Westmoreland County), a son of the late Jesse J. and Mary Elizabeth (Dugan) Stoner. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel (Henry) Stoner in 1973; one brother, Frank, in 1956; a granddaughter, Gloria Jean Stoner, in 1944; and great-granddaughter, Barbara Stoner, in 1977. He is survived by two sons: Theodore of Friedens RD 1 and John of Rockwood; two daughters: Mrs. Elbert (Ruth) Barron of Hagerstown, Md., and Mrs. G. Marion (Lorraine) Smith of Indianhead; 14 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren. He was a retired teacher of Upper Turkeyfoot Township. He was Charter member of Kingwood Grange, Kingwood I.O.O.F. and life-long member of the Kingwood Church of God; a member of Sons of the American Revolution, and Woodmen of the World. Friends were received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home where services were held with the Rev. Paul Tobias officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. The Republic, May 14, 1981 [S3079]
