Born Dec. 11, 1913 in Johnstown, the son of Robert F. and Clara (Stander) Stoppe. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers, Robert and Max. Survived by his widow, the former Gladys S. Mullen, and these children: Dorothy M., wife of James Reffner; George Jr., married to the former Nancy Evans; Walter James and Richard Eugene, all of Jenners; Robert F., married to the former Patricia Stout; and William V., married to the former Joann Rose, both of Jennerstown. A stepson, Harry Ronald Mullen, Harrisburg; nine grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Was a brother of: Mrs. Clara Koshewitz, Royal Oak, Mich.; the Rev. Henry Stoppe, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Marie Willison, Jennerstown; and Mrs. Helen Tallentire, Markleysburg. A member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club; Jenner Local 1742 UMWA; and honorary member of Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department. Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Jesse E. Wolf officiating. Interment, Beam's Cemetery.
