Stout, 71, Gray, died Feb. 4, 1984, at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. Born Sept. 26, 1912, in Champion, son of Samuel J. and Nora M. (Reese) Stout. Preceded in death by parents and infant brother, Paul. Survived by widow, the former Frances E. Shawley; and these children: Donald, married to the former Ruth Rhoades, Stoystown RD 2; Helen, wife of Alvin Naugle, James, married to the former Karen Walls, both of Boswell RD 2; Dallas, married to the former Shirley Naugle, Debra, wife of Donald Penrod, both of Gray; Carol, wife of Lloyd Kisamore Jr., Somerset RD 2; Lois, wife of Carl Sonafelt, Sipesville; Patricia, wife of Robert Stoppe, Jenners; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Brother of: Roy, Thelma Snyder and Betty Shawley, all of Champion. Army veteran of World War II; celebrated 46th wedding anniversary June 7, 1983; retired miner and lumberman. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes officiating.
