Straka, 22, Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, Pa., formerly of Jenners, died unexpectedly July 1, 1999, at home. Born May 21, 1977, in Somerset, daughter of Benedict Sr. and Jean (Persuhn) Straka. Preceded in death by infant sister, Beverly Joann Straka, May 10, 1975; maternal grandmother, Louise Persuhn and paternal grandfather, John L. Straka. Survived by parents, Jenners; brother, Benedict Jr., married to the former Wendy Penrod, Washinton [sic], Pa.; and sister, Barbara J., wife of James Gardner, Somerset; niece, Beth Ann Gardner, nephews: Jacob Gardner and Bradley Straka, maternal grandfather, Ralph Persuhn, Boswell; paternal grandmother, Anna Straka, Jennerstown; numerous other relatives and special friend, Jimmy. Member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church, where she attended Sunday School and was active in the youth group. A 1995 graduate of North Star High School and Somerset Vo-Tech, 1999 graduate of Allegheny Community College, Pittsburgh, where she was elected to the Who's Who of Junior Colleges. Friends received from 709 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Jennerstown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John R. Guerre and the Rev. William F. "Dutch" Persuhn officiating.
