Straka, Sr., 84, 43 Water St., Jenners, died unexpectedly June 2, 1985, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 27, 1900, in Austria-Hungary, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Baloga) Straka. Preceded in death by parents; three infant children, Mary Ann, William, and James; one infant grandchild, Beverly Straka; sister, Elizabeth, brother, Andrew. Survived by his widow, the former Anna M. Mriglud; six children, John Jr., married to former Shirley (Clark) deLuca, Boswell; Joseph, Southampton, Pa.; Anna, wife of Italo Carosi, Salix; David, married to the former Stella Yuchnik, Camp Springs, Md.; Ben, married to the former Jean Persuhn, Jenners; Louise, wife of Kirby Lintz, Summerville, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; six great grandchildren. He was the brother of Dorothy Kolosky, Cleveland, Ohio; Joseph, Whitney, Pa.; Veronica Tompko, and Anna Dorko, both of Lloydsville, Pa.; Justine Majer, Beatty, Pa. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Jenners, and the Holy Name Society. Also a member of UMWA, Jenner Local No. 1742; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; First Catholic Slovak Union. Celebrated 61st wedding anniversary Jan. 23, 1985. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main St., Boswell, where Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. Alfred Evanoski O.F.M. Conv. Interment, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell. Daily American, June 3, 1985 [S3127]
