  DANIEL E. STROKE
  
  Daniel E. Stroke, 54, of Long Island, N.Y., formerly of Acosta, died
  Oct. 8, 1983, at Queens General Hospital of injuries received in an
  automobile accident.  He was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Tarrs, Pa., son of
  the late John and Naomi (Daniels) Stroke.  Preceded in death by his
  wife, Katherine, in 1968; a brother and a sister.  Survived by the
  following children: Charles G., Daniel E. Jr., John R., Darcy and
  Derrick, all of Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Herbert (Lisa) Stone of
  Bethlehem, Pa.; Mrs. Larry (Ellen) Weiser, Spokane, Wash.; and Mrs.
  Michael (Carrie) Lurie of Thompson, Pa.  A brother, Charles Stroke of
  Acosta; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Hoope of Latrobe.  Friends will be
  received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home,
  where relatives and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Saturday after
  which cortege will travel to Alverton Cemetery near Mt. Pleasant for
  a graveside service.
