James N. Strohm, 92, Spillway Lane, Friedens, died Jan. 27, 2006, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 1, 1913, in McKeesport, son of George and Emily (Weyer) Strohm. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Lois Zollars; daughter, Mary Jane Unger; sisters, Gertrude Reader and Mary Geotz and brother Carl. Survived by these children, Sue, at home; Emily, married to Lawrence Thom, Reno, Nev. and James R., married to the former Tammy Weyant, Shanksville; and grandchildren, Lawrence Thom II, Sarah Thom and Heather Weyant. He was a graduate of United Seminary in Dayton, Ohio and retired resident director of Camp Allegheny, Stoystown. Former pastor of Mahaffey, Arona, Beaver Falls, Laughlintown, Mapleton Depot, Jeannette, Wilkinsburg and Dunlo United Methodist churches. Member of Shanksville United Methodist Church and Ohio Lodge F&AM. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Randy Newell and Rev. Marlin Miller officiating. Interment, Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Camp Allegheny, 100 Camp Allegheny Dr., Stoystown, PA 15563.
