(Eck) Strong, 79, Rockwood, died July 11, 1989 at the home of his daughter in Bethel Park. Born July 1, 1910 in Rockwood, son of the late Howard and Corda (Farling) Strong. Also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Survived by wife, the former Erma Kregar. Death terminates a marriage of 54 years. Also survived by son, Charles Henry, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Frederick (Corda) Oehling, Bethel Park; three grandchildren. Member of the Rockwood United Church of Christ, Rockwood Rotary, American Legion Post 181, VFW Post 554; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1801. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, W.W.II; retired salesman of Watkins Chevrolet, Boswell. Friends received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Rockwood United Church of Christ, the Rev. Wayne D. Sautter officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Body will lie in state from 10 a.m. to time of service at the church.
