Born in Delphene, PA on August 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Rex and Brooksie (Moniger) Kerr. She was a devoted wife of John H. Strope, who passed away on April 25, 2006. She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. She was the beloved mother of seven children: Kenneth (Gale Imhoff), Marilyn (William Gerhart), Lisa, and Gary all of Meyersdale, Susan Pettit (Monty Pettit) of Washington, PA, Terry (Emma Melillo) of Albuquerque, NM, and Cynthia (Michael Lowery) of Marianna, PA. She was a grandmother of 13 and a great-grandmother to 14. Also survived by one brother: George Edison Kerr, Washington, PA and one sister: Mary Joe Kerr; Brave, PA, also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was a Dietary Manager for Meyersdale Medical Center for many years, where she had baked thousands of cookies for the hospital's many functions. Friends were received at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home where funeral services were held at 3 PM Monday with Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery.
