Stuck, 93, Berlin died on September 11, 2006 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born April 27, 1913 in Summit Twp., a daughter of Howard and Salome (Engle) Maust. Preceded in death by parents; husband Ralph H. Stuck who died in 1969; grandson Brent Stuck who died in 1972; son-in-law William Whitacre who died in 1998; and brother Markle E. Maust who died in 1998. Survived by children: Ruth Elaine Whitacre, Berlin; Bruce E. Stuck married to the former Beverly Brant, San Antonio, TX; grandchildren: Brenda Stuck married to Thomas V. Wente, San Antonio; Rebecca Stuck married to Michael Haydel, Brentwood, CA; step-granddaughter Michele Whitacre married to Frank James, Berlin; great grandchildren: Aidan and Elise Wente, and Kate and Colton Haydel; step-great grandsons: Jason Addair and Connor James. Also survived by sisters: Julia Hay, Salisbury; Ruth Foor, Everett; sister-in-law Harriet Ruth Maust, Salisbury; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was a 1929 graduate of Meyersdale High School and a 1931 graduate of California (PA) State College. She taught elementary school for 27 years and retired from Berlin Brothersvalley School District in 1974. She was a member of Trinity UCC, Berlin, where she sang in the choir; a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels; and she volunteered at the former Maple Mountain Manor and Meadow View Nursing Center where she enjoyed playing the piano for sing alongs. She enjoyed family, friends, teaching, quilting, reading, traveling, crossword puzzles and cryptoquotes. Family received friends from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where services were held at 11 a.m. Friday with Reverends Ralph Landis and James Hughes Officiating. Interment Berlin I00F Cemetery.
